In the latest Newsletter, Kevin wrote;

“The Band are planning a big recruitment drive this year, so if you know of a brass or percussion player looking for a new challenge, or for a friendly blow each week ask them to get in contact with Kevin (01277 - 375788)”

May I just add that from my long experience in knowing the band, that they are a fun loving bunch of individuals that meet informally once a week to make good music. The desire for musical excellence is there, but beyond that there is a lighter element to all they do. These are people who get on well on stage as well as off of it, and are more than happy to welcome newcomers, and to help those that need it, regain or find their form. The band are well known locally for developing talented youngsters, and have produced players that have honed their skills with Fairlop before moving on to Championship standard bands.

The band meet just once a week (Monday Evenings) at a church hall in Fencepeice Road, Hainault. The nearest tube station is (naturally) Fairlop.
