Worldviews

This contextual course assists His disciples in understanding the concept of worldview and the basic ways that an individual or a culture looks at life.  These fundamental assumptions that every person/culture makes about the NATURE OF THINGS can be organized under these major categories:  the NATURE and ORIENTATION OF ULTIMATE REALITY; the ORIGIN and NATURE OF THE WORLD AROUND US, the NATURE and ORIENTATION OF HUMANKIND; the BASIS and NATURE OF TRUTH and ETHICS; and the ROLE and LOCATION OF RELIGION IN SOCIETY.

The major religions and ideologies of humankind will be examined in light of these major categories;  Animism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Humanism (secular), and Islam.  The final session examines the true and false church and the one, true saving formula:  that a person is saved by grace, through faith in the Promised Seed, Jesus Christ.
