1979 AMX

I was actually looking for an Eagle SX/4 (don’t ask) and I came across this baby. 1979 AMC AMX, no rust. Wait a minute...NO RUST????? In Wisconsin?????

It’s for real. This AMX spent most of it’s life in Arizona, but made it’s way home to Wisconsin in the late 1990’s.  The interior was cooked from the desert sun, but the body is cleaner than any Rambler I have ever seen in my life. Mind you I’ve spent my whole life living in Kenosha, Wisconsin birthplace of every AMC car.

Originally fitted with a 304 V8 and a four speed trans. The previous owner swapped the tired 304 for a built 360.  A 2800 pound car with built V8. Think about that.

Too clean and too cool to pass up, I bought it.

The interior is being completely redone, The engine is tuned and as soon as I get some time, I’ll repaint the hood and replace the AMX flame graphics. A five speed conversion is in the plan too.

This car is like the porn movie version of Bandit’s T/A. I love it. Can’t wait to smoke the hides down the road.
