Paint the Wind

Whether you like horse stories or not, you will like this book!  Maya lives with her grandmother because her parents are dead.  The only remembrances of her mother are a faded picture of her and a few small horse figurines.  She isn’t even allowed to speak about her mother!   Suddenly, Maya finds herself on an airplane bound for Wyoming to live with her mother’s family.  Horses, named for American painters, soon become an important part of Maya’s life.  She learns quickly about the dangers and advantages of freedom as well as whether she can handle them.
