Alice Heller* has been studying and performing West African dance for over 16 years. She has been a member of various dance groups in Boston including Aconcone, directed by Ibrahima Camara. Currently she is a member of Under the Sun Dance and Drum led by Fatou Carol Sylla, as well as her own troupe Teriya,which she formed in 2000. Teriya now Teranga can be seen performing in the metro-north area. 

Besides African-based dance and drumming, Alice's studies have included jazz, creative movement, hip hop, improvisational dance and gymnastics.

Teaching in the Metro Boston area for over ten years, Alice shares her passion for African dance and culture through classes, workshops and drum/dance circles.

In addition to teaching adults, she regularly offers music and movement classes to young children, African dance to teens at Cambrige School of Weston, as well as weekly African dance classes in the Concord area.
