Progress report

So I’m over half way through the summer, maybe I should check and see how I’m doing on those 23 goals I set out in May.

1. Place to Life: Cheap sublets are AWESOME.

2. Money issue: I forgot, people sometimes give you money when you graduate from things.

3. Math Club Constitution: I have a LaTeX file for that somewhere, and a blogpost about a general vision, but I haven’t had much time to work on the constitution.

4. Learn Wordpress: Yeah.... some day....

5. Math Club Webpage: Should probably get on that, though it still entertains me that the last completely functional Math Club Webpage was written by the CMG himself.

6. Learn to Play Go: I have a nice go set, and one I’m leaving with Mathclub. I don’t get to play a lot though. I will have to have some friends come by and play when I’m back here on a regular basis.

7 & 8. SoF-pedia: If this wiki were a human being, I would be a horrible father.

9. Stock Characters: I think this has actually progressed somewhat without any effort. I’ve recently met some remarkable characters, and their mannerisms (or maneurisms) may appear in my improv quite naturally.

10.  Audio Responses to the UCBP: 206-3-FUN-GIG

11. Non-Mathematical Reading: Ender’s Game is not volleyball, spoiler.

12. SUMSRI Reuion: Guess I dropped the ball on that one, but there may be plans for a big reunion at the joint meetings.

13. MOAR BLOGGING: You’re reading this aren’t you? Seriously I’m a bit paranoid that no one reads this.

14. GIECS and the Bigfoot Project: I’m going to have to write a post about that exactly these are.

15. L-Functions: I really need to learn more.

16. Equidistributions of Parity Conjecture: This deserves a post in itself, but I may lose my 4 readers.

17. Galois Cohomology: It makes a bit more sense now, but I really need to sit down with this.

18. Selmer Groups with Limited Local FIelds: I’m not sure the groups I should be looking at would be finite. Something to look into when I have a little better understanding.

19. Topology on Selmer Groups: I think the topology I had in mind, is not as structured as people like to look at, but I’d like to examine this idea whenever I get 18 done.

20. Publication: I’ve got a few plans, my webpage officially needs a Projects section.

21. Modular Forms: I’ve learned approximately bagel about modular forms outside of the following item.

22. Ken Ribet’s Birthday Conference: Thanks to Peace for telling me to go despite the monetary costs. Worth it! (More on this later I hope.)

23. Quals: You know, I probably shouldn’t have put this at the end of the list... I’m going to focus mainly on Algebra, because it will allow me to take some important courses.
