1940s smallholding
May 2007 event
In May 2007, Rushmere Cottage went back to the 1940s. The local Home Guard turned out to train with the Suffolk Home Guard, the Women’s Land Army helped the local farmers with harrowing and rolling using 1940s Fordson tractors, the WVS were on hand to provide refreshments, and many others joined us including the Dereham Girl Guides.
These photographs were taken mostly by Jane Eaton from Girlguiding Norfolk and by Ad Hickley and Sarah Jones. A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this our best and most enjoyable event yet and to everyone who came and visited.
