Finally Some Birthday Cake

As is the case for most Friday’s, Alejandra had a day with no school or class. It must be nice to have 3 day weekends every week. This morning it was pretty relaxing, as Alejandra and abuelita just went for a walk then came home and rode around on her tricycle in the backyard.
We were hoping to start the weekend off right, but mom came home not feeling well, and it’s something different

Given the crazy week Mamí has had....we just barely got a chance to bake daddy a chocolate cake. Alejandra loves to be in the kitchen so she was ready to mix up the cake and then of course lick the bowl clean! She kept singing Happy Birthday Daddy until he got home. Once he walked in the door she told him “surprise Daddy venga!” She took him over to the cake and said “Happy Birthday Daddy!”
Mama’s Sick

Dad had to come home a little early today as mom was not feeling very well. She needed to go to the doctor this evening, so it was up to dad to take care of bath and bed time. Daddy and Alejandra enjoyed spending time together tonight and got to play a bit before it was time to go to sleep. She loves doing whatever dad is doing (see picture above as she was putting on dad’s clothes).

In these times of “thanksgiving” Mamí is very happy to be blessed with a healthy family, stable employment, a wonderful support network, and a beautiful daughter. Today was Mamí’s school parent conferences and there were many difficult stories heard and told. After hearing all of their stories it helped placed all those small bothersome things back in their place and help gain perspective on
