The G-Spot is named for Dr. Ernest Grafenberg, who first described it is a 1950 article in the International Journal of Sexology. The obstetrician/gynecologist described an area in the vagina loaded with nerve tissue which, when stimulated, intensified sexual arousal and led to almost instant orgasm. In his honor for this discovery, the area was referred to as the “G-Spot.”
