we bring Broadway to you
minding your show business

10:30am- 2pm: the Audition process
Every student performs their song and/or monologue. We'll make a few adjustments, give notes and take questions from the rest of the class. We'll also do some cold reading, and hand out sides for scenes to be read with a reader or with each other.

2-2:45: lunch

2:45-4:00 Movement/Dance call
This is not as scary as it sounds!
Often, in auditions for Broadway shows, the director, choreographer and producers will want to see how those auditioning move, whether they are dancers or not.
So this dance call will have phases to it: each will increase in difficulty based on the student level, until we arrive at the "final callback."
When it’s all over we'll discuss how the whole thing went, and more importantly, how final decisions about casting are made, which is often surprising and always unexpected.
In any case, don’t freak! It’s a class, not an audition.

4:00-5:15 Reality Check
An in-depth discussion focusing on "the business of the business". The Reality Check the cornerstone of what we do at Moveable Arts. We'll tackle the daily aspects of what it means to not only make a career, but create a life within the world of show business. We'll cover Unions, Agents, Casting, Headshots and discuss all your questions regarding life as an actor in New York City!
