We had so much fun camping this weekend! We started the day off with our squadron picnic, the kids had a blast jumping in the bouncy house, and seeing all of their friends. I had prepared Cotton for camping by watching the Signing Time movie, the “Great Backyard,” and talking at length about sleeping in a tent, and what we were going to do. Well, after the picnic, I guess he got it, because he headed for the first tent he saw, he was ready to set up camp.. the actual owners of the tent were very nice, and thought it was as funny as we did (fortunately).
The boys loved the park next to our site, the camp fire, and ohhhhhh the s’mores! Now I know why people camp:) Mr. Chief was a little scared that night, the baby actually slept through the night, and Cotton gave us his normal 5 am wake up call. Over all a VERY fun time by all.
My absolute favorite part, the very moody 13 year old boy that came with us, was pushing Cotton on the swing. He gave Cotton a big underdog, Cotton laughed, and made a friend for life. The boy was so moved that he had connected with Cotton. I overheard him tell his mom, “He was totally laughing with me!” Okay, I have known this boy since he was 7, I am so thankful, that we are raising kids like this!! He happily pushed Cotton
every time he asked for the rest of the weekend. *sniff, sniff*
