Designed to address the need for ongoing continuous improvement, the Technology Professional Growth Series course will help educators participating in the Association of Alaska School Boards’ Consortium for Digital Learning (AASB-CDL) to rethink the teaching and learning process by incorporating technology into their classrooms as a means of engaging students and developing 21st Century skills.

The course consists of two components: 1) participation in onsite professional development training led by Apple or Dell, and 2) submission of course materials to the Instructor of Record. Actual onsite professional development training descriptions will be determined between Apple or Dell and the local district. Onsite training will be delivered to participants by Apple Professional Development trainers or professional consultants on behalf of Dell. Onsite training content will focus on Apple and Dell prescribed training topics, but may be modified to meet district needs. Training sessions vary throughout the 2008-09 school year. Course materials are due by June 1, 2009.

Visit the online Course Registration page for a full description of course requirements.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

One CEU is offered for each 15 hours of training up to a total of 3 units. The superintendent will be responsible for issuing the training certificate and forwarding the document to AASB for authorization.
