Aaron Wooten brushes with a brush of sarcasm. His images reflect a topsy-turvy of serious objects and absurd realities. The purpose is to combine both a world of material rationalities and ideological irrationalities that somehow form together in an ordered form. This is how he understands his life to be heading and by interpreting this, he feels just a little bit better.

Aaron Wooten began painting in NYC after becoming completely disgraced with his Film Degree that he earned from Hunter College, CUNY. After throwing numerous fits and tantrums about his disposition, he began to paint in the summer of 2002 in order to distract himself from his worldly troubles. Breaking the bank, he left to his homeland Columbus, Ohio to further develop his style. Out came an uncanny mixture of naked children, presidential portraits and Rockwell reworks.

He now lives in Chicago with his wife Theresa. He has grown a beard and rides a red bike to work everyday, even in winter. In the last three years he has participated in a number of arts charities and festivals in the Chicago area. He still refuses to repay his college loans.

The pieces you may view in the compiled albums were created in Chicago using enamels. His influences include Jack Levine, Thomas Hart Benton and John Currin.
