Changes Made to Member/Candidate Policy

A decision was made at the June 13th meeting of the AAREI Board of Directors that affects all the Candidate members of the Association. From this point onward the Association is dropping the whole concept of Members and Candidates. Henceforth, to qualify for membership in the Association, you need to be a registered home inspector and pay dues.

The concept of Member/Candidate requirements was important in the early days of the Association. Now that our industry is regulated the concept is outdated and no longer serves the interests of the industry or the home buying public. In the beginning the Association's mission was to be self policing society. Relieved of that duty, our mission is the advancement of knowledge and professionalism within our industry.

The database has been updated to show all current dues paid affiliates of the Association as Members.

Other Decisions Affecting the Association

In a reversal of a decision made last year, the Board decided that we would continue to have a presence and support the Arkansas Realtors™ Association at their annual convention. This year’s convention will be held in September in Hot Springs. With so much confusion regarding the business of mold inspector licensing, the board felt it was important for the Association to be on hand to offer explanations of what the Realtor™ community can expect next year.
