Welcome to Annie Angers's Laboratory Homepage
We are a small research group located at the Département de sciences biologiques of the Université de Montréal. We are focusing our research on molecular mechanisms allowing the regulation of membrane protein trafficking in the endosomal pathway following endocytosis. Proper regulation of receptor endocytosis and trafficking is a critical determinent of cell responsiveness to extracellular stimulus such as growth signals. Furthermore, they lie at the complex interface between endocytosis and intracellular signaling. The understanding of these phenomenon can help further our knowledge of fundamental processes such as neuronal development and uncontrolled cell growth as is seen in tumorigenic cells.
