A Dreamy Show

The 2008 Sidewalk Art Show fell on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, and we encountered fair and balmy conditions conducive to large crowds of patrons and smooth sailing for the annual Figawi race.
Thirty or so artist members participated in the day-long event. Using auction walls, originally built for us by Illya Kagan, the artists set up displays of artwork in the parking lot of the Dreamland Theater that ranged from prints to photography to ceramics to oil paintings to watercolors to fiber arts. Business at the AAN check out table was brisk. We nearly tripled last year’s sales, and our exposure in the community was aided by the gracious sponsorship of Nantucket Frameworks.
We truly appreciate the Dreamland Foundation for hosting us at their location overlooking the Easy Street basin, and we appreciate all our volunteers and staff who put hours of planning and execution into this smashing success.

The 2008 season not only sees the beginning of this website dedicated to the AAN Gallery, it will also kick off a new feature -- the virtual gallery space. Our Exhibition Web Albums will feature a representative sample of each show and direct purchases can be made.
