Ukraine Orphan Outreach is establishing an annual cultural exchange camp for orphans in Ukraine. We bring older orphaned children to Northern Colorado to meet and interact with loving families face-to-face. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to experience America, but more importantly, experience the love and kindness of others! Life-long friendships and bonds are often created between people in America and orphaned children in Ukraine. This program helps give hope in a personal way to those who have none.
During this cultural exchange camp the children stay as a group. This allows for safety of the children, consistency, ease of participation by people in the community and security for the children who are comforted in being together.
As you can imagine, it is quite an expensive undertaking to bring each child to the United States and care for them. We raise funds to pay for airline tickets, passports, interpreter(s), and guardian expenses. The costs reach approximately $2,500 per child. Once the group arrives in the states, we rely on donations and volunteers in the community to help cover meals, clothing, care packages, projects, outings and activities.
