Loudon County Habitat for Humanity

HABITAT IS BASED ON TRADITIONAL VALUES

Habitat is a "hand-up" not a "handout." It’s a way for neighbors to help neighbors. It is not government controlled or funded, and requires substantial effort by the partner family to complete the required sweat-equity hours, which include classes to help them prepare for responsible home ownership. The partner family repays the cost of building their home through a 20-year, no-interest mortgage. Each new Habitat home is an improvement to the neighborhood and increases the property tax base. (from the website)

Loudon County’s Habitat House also sponsors “Women Build” in which women throughout the area volunteer to help build Habitat Houses as a group.  Please click the “women build” link on the site.
