In the beginning . . .
I cannot recall a time that drawing and painting did not beckon me.
San Francisco Bay Area proved a fertile ground for honing my skills early,
while studying various creative disciplines. A near-death experience at 23
began my journey looking past the surface of everything in life. Influences
and interests continually morph and evolve where my growth and understanding related to spiritual truths often surface in my paintings. While working with the physicists at Lawrence Livermore Labs and NASA-Ames Research Center as an illustrator for their cutting-edge esoteric concepts,
their counsel while processing the near-death experience was rich ground
and inspiration for understanding expanding concepts and visual imagery.
Always looking for the spiritual, forever seeking those moments of clarity where depth of feeling can be found. I don’t always fully understand what I might achieve each time I create but I’m always hoping to connect in some way with another’s psyche, to learn and grow within myself. Perhaps as artists, when connection's are made, we see a glimpse of who we are and what we need to do to breathe more life into
our work.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know
my work.

Namaste.
Ongoing Series
& Projects

Four separate series are in various development stages.

“THE ACCIDENTAL MODEL”
Stands at 5 in the series. These are under the Romance section. This series had a specific model in mind
when it was in concept. Ultimately, the preliminary shots with a stand-in, non-model, had a more appeal
and natural flavor in the final analysis so I worked from them instead. Again, this series has helped me
gain better control of the looser brushwork.

VICTORIA’S “SECRET ANGELS”
These four angels emerge from the canvas both to enchant and seduce the viewer.
Designed so each panel is interactive, there are two vertical and two horizontal images to the suite.
These can be hung in a variety combinations, groupings of four or in pairs. Nothing will happen with these originals until Victoria’s Secret parent corp, has time ti weigh in, as the faces are based of some of their signature print and product models.

“STORYBOOKS REINVENTED”
The response to the stylized “Alice” has ignited a desire to carry this at least to a total of four.
Little Red is next! People seem to enjoy seeing this character as a young woman, empowered with
emerging self-assurance. This approach to the subject forces me to have to rewrite the stories in my head,
so as to fit the new imagery. That in itself is an interesting exercise in meandering streams of consciousness.

“DREAMSCAPES”
This series of nude studies will be ongoing (at 7 so far) and have become an exercise in loosing up
my hand and brushwork. Years of technical training can be hard to shake off, Eventually, a nice rhythm
emerged when there wasn’t the desire for the tight detail work I usually do, For me they are more expressive
and relaxed, so I enjoy them in the studio.

I was unaware this photo existed until a relative recently emailed it to me.
While the painting isn’t very clear, what is however, is that I have continued to follow
my passion.

I have been working with more recently,
this was created with
a  looser hand and
less attention to technical
detail.

Reality is such a thin veil.

I was born into a family that lived with
a
deep level of military secrecy at the
highest levels, It defined and
permeated our lives.

After 50 years, only some of my fathers
work has recently been declassified and
the bombs are now
dropping all over my life.

So much more is beginning to make sense... now!

Continuing my studies under specific artists contributes greatly to my skill level, Continuing spiritual exploraton and research into other areas of physics and Noetic Science research infuses my work. The Sr. Art Directors who took my under their wings early on as an emerging designer and technical illustrator in SIlicon Valley (a big shout out to Laurie Stapleton & John Gianotti)...to the master painters who have given generous amounts of their time to enhance the scope of understanding the gift on so many levels. . . . Thank you is never enough. Their encouragement has helped me define who I am creatively, which I’m finding to be a lifelong process. The best honor I can give my creative and artistic mentors is to always bring something new, fresh and insightful into the work as evidence of the growth.

More recently I have taken to working in series and find it inspiring to approach one subject from a variety of perspectives, and to have the opportunity to apply new techniques in a variety of similar application until it becomes a relaxed extension of the creative process.
