Who are we?
We’re a people of FAITH, earnestly believing in the power of hope and love, caring compassionately about the earth and all who inhabit it, and recognizing our responsibility to actively participate in the pursuit of justice, the struggle for peace, and the healing of our world.
We’re a community focused on EDUCATION, because we know that all of us have more to learn about what we believe, and that paying attention to historians, scholars, activists, theologians, and each other is crucial for us to grow in our faith.
We’re a people of ACTION, recognizing that talking about God and discussing issues of justice are not enough- we need to listen for and respond to God’s call to help make a better world by moving against systems of injustice and strife through service, dialogue, and positive activism.
We’re a group dedicated to SERVICE, sharing with each other and our local communities our time and resources, giving to one another what we can, and being faithful disciples of Jesus by working with all people, of every ethnicity, age, ability, background, religion and non-religion, socio-economic class, gender and gender identity, and sexual orientation.
But we can only do it TOGETHER, recognizing that in our isolating and individualistic culture, there is more of a need than ever to forge safer communal spaces, to become a ministry of reconciliation, where we, students at UC Santa Cruz and beyond, can learn to care for and love one another as God cares for and loves us.
We are Faith, Education, Action and Service Together, the United Campus Christian Ministry at UC Santa Cruz, a justice-seeking, peace-making, Jesus-following campus ministry, where all are welcome.
Come join the FEAST!
