We had an amazing week in Ensenada, Mexico with hundreds of high school students and leaders from around North America.
Teams came from Alaska, Michigan, Georgia and many places in between to partner with Mexican churches in serving the community of Ensenada. Teams put on programs for kids, did prison ministry, and even built churches.
Azusa Pacific University’s Mexico Outreach sponsors this amazing trip. For years they have been taking thousands of students each year on trips to Mexico. I’ve had the privilege of leading worship for a number of these trips.

Jack Withers jammin’ on electric guitar. He’s a pretty awesome guy. Oh, and he can play guitar incredibly well.
We camped at Rancho El Refugio just outside Ensenada. Each morning kicked off with worship and teaching, then teams went to ministry sites and returned for dinner and an evening chapel.

That’s a lot of green.
Chris Stansell rockin’ it on drums.
Brian Blazek kickin’ it on the bass guitar.
Eric Heard from Mariner’s Church spoke at chapels. He was phenomenal. Hilarious, honest, he pointed us to the Lord again and again. Thanks, Eric!
Potentially the most important band member- Steve Gake, our sound guy.
He worked incredibly hard all week; being outside, we had to set up and take down
gear for each chapel- that’s 11 setups and tear downs. Steve didn’t complain once and was always the first one there and the last one to leave. Thank you Steve for taking a week of vacation to serve in Mexico!
Morning Chapel
We had a kid’s choir from Ensenada come sing for chapel one night. They stole the show!
Thanks to everybody who made the week fantastic! There’s something awesome about hundreds of people getting together to worship, to serve, and to grow together. Thanks for all your encouragement, for all your kind words, and for giving a week of your life to serve the Lord in Mexico. Blessings to you and I hope to see you soon!
