Dreaming...

www.jeremytaylor.com

For everything you ever wanted to
know about dreams and dreaming, this is the site.  Jeremy has been teaching dream work for more than 35 years, was a founding member and past president of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) and has written three books on dreams and dream work. He is also my totally wonderful husband of 43 years.

The International Association for the Study of Dreams is a non-profit, international, multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the pure and applied investigation
of dreams and dreaming. Our purposes are to promote an awareness and appreciation of dreams in both professional and public arenas; to encourage research into the nature, function, and significance of dreaming; to advance the application of the study of dreams; and to provide a forum for the eclectic and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and information.

Billie Ortiz, in Colorado, provides dream workshops several times a year.  She is an excellent dream work facilitator and a tremendous resource for those wanting to explore dreams.

She says:

This website is dedicated to shining light on the importance of bringing the symbolic language of our dreams into conscious awareness so that we can honor and receive the hidden treasures that lie within. I invite you to explore and investigate the resources offered here and encourage you to delve into the realm of rekindling the connection with your Higher Self through a better understanding of your dreams.

Dreaming and Art....and more

www.createwithspirit.com

This is our daughter Tristy Taylor’s website devoted to creating art, keeping a spiritual perspective in mind.
Here is a spectacular piece she made for a JFK University art show.  The body cast for the piece (“Kali”) is over six feet tall.  She offers workshops and individual appointments.  She is also an Interfaith Minister (graduate of the Chaplaincy Institute).  She is one of the two founders of the Church of Craft, now an international organization.

Brenda Ferrimani’s art is extraordinarily beautiful.

She says: Creativity is essential to a healthy spirit, so to a person without sufficient outlets for expression life can feel like a prison, and even worse
a sort of walking death. In the years before I worked as an artist, my dreams told the story of a woman who could fly like a bird, but was constantly brought down, either by storm or by crowds of people who tried to kill her!  Now, realizing how important my creative space is to me, I allow time every day to paint, write, sculpt, and doodle. I make sure I have time to meditate, and have some quiet time in nature so that the unconscious is allowed to breathe. I keep track of my dreams in a journal, which in itself becomes a book of art. (Published in the Dream Network Magazine, Summer, 2004)

This is artist Danny Gregory’s wonderful site. He has written many books about embracing art (and your creativity in general), all from a gentle, generous and often very funny perspective.

Danny says: Last weekend, I went back to drawing with pen and ink and what a relief it's been. I have done dozens of careful ink drawings since, all pen with just a touch of
ink brushwork on a couple of images. I felt like I do after coming home form a lousy vacation, eager to return to my familiar old armchair and enjoy a cup of tea as only Patti can make it.
I realize now that I draw as I do not because of inflexibility but because it is me. I can walk a mile in another man's shoes but it gives me blisters. However, I am glad I took this trip through the land of Graphite. It is wonderful to unstrap the lead and splash free in pools of ink once more.

Betsy Chandler has a wonderful approach to working with dreams and art.  See the many parts of Georgia’s Dream at this site.
Betsy says: The "Georgia's Dream" painting is actually from a drawing I did during dream group  in Benicia in the early 90's.  It was
a diagram of the structure of Georgia's dream, literally.  I wonder if she knows that her dream is now famous.  That strange painting which I did off the cuff in a half hour became the base for the next five or six years of work.  It's called getting out of your own way.

Connie Lehman explores her vision in Drawings, “Beauties,” Embroideries and Metal Sculpture. She is inspired by the tarot - dreams - and life in general.
Sh
e says “I realized recently that my art is all about journeys....the drawings ask to do more and to be more, which is how they become embroideries and sculpture. I know the whole process is absolute alchemy, mystery - in my bones and my blood and the unconscious, the places nobody can ever mess with, the parts where dreams come from. and that’s why I do what I do.”
